The La Grange Park Police Department will host the 2019 National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6th at Memorial Park. Festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. and include entertainment, food & refreshments, and a spectacular grand finale. The event is free and open to residents, local businesses, and their families and friends.
National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch. This year is the 36th anniversary of National Night Out with over 38 million people across the country expected to participate.
The purpose of the event is to increase awareness about various police programs offered by communities, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch and other anti-crime efforts. National Night Out is designed to promote police-community partnerships and generate neighborhood camaraderie to make the Village a safe and more caring place to live. National Night Out enhances relationships between residents and law enforcement while encouraging a true sense of shared community. It is a fantastic opportunity to bring police and neighbors together for an evening filled with fun, festivities, and friendship.
Residents are encouraged to show their support for crime prevention by locking their doors, turning on their outside lights, and spending an evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, fire fighters, and other Village personnel while enjoying a cookout, safety demonstrations, youth events, exhibits, giveaways and much, much more.
The Village of La Grange Park Police Department is a nationally registered participant of National Night Out.
