The Village is aware of utility locates being conducted by Nicor at several residential addresses. As a result of these locates customers may see flags and paint in their yards. Nicor is moving gas meters outside as part of their meter modernization program. The work is being completed by their contractor, Cobian Utility. Nicor’s policy is to notify customers in advance and schedule appointments prior to completing the locates. However, it appears some locates may have been done prior to notification.
The Village reached out to Nicor for more information on when the work will be completed. Nicor has responded that there are a total of 112 customers who should have received letters and will have appointments to relocate their meters. This work has just started and will continue for a period of time as the appointments for access are granted by the homeowner.
