The Village is aware that residents are experiencing various issues with mail service. Recent articles have indicated that the U.S. Postal Service system has been strained by the impact of COVID-19 on its workforce while online shopping has also increased significantly during the pandemic.
An alert bar on the United States Post Office's website indicates "USPS is experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience."
Residents are asked to direct their complaints to their legislative representatives. Congressman Quigley's office has been in conversation with district management at USPS and is working towards a solution.
