Seeking Members for Village Youth Commission

Four Female Youth Doing Yardwork

The Village of La Grange Park believes the same issues that are important to "adults" in our community are also important to teenagers. We think the youth of our Village can offer unique perspectives and original insights into some of the issues that the Village encounters on a regular basis.

The Village currently has four openings on the Commission and is seeking youth ages 7th grade through 12th grade who are interested in serving their community and learning more about the local government. The Commission serves alongside the other Village Boards Committees which make recommendations to the Village Board. The Commissioners receive the same agenda and discuss the same issues that the Village Board discusses at their Workshop meetings.

The Commission meets once a month on the Monday prior to the second Tuesday of the month for one hour. Commissioners also attend a Village Board Work Session (1-2 per year) to share the Commissions feedback on the agenda issues with the Village Board directly.
