Updates will be made as they become available:

Construction Updates - Week Ending October 15, 2021

La Grange Road/31st Street Water Main Replacement: :  Suburban Generals sub-contractor installed the western half of the north alley in concrete and replaced all the sidewalks and aprons along La Grange Road this week.  Next week, the contractor hopes to prepare and pour the eastern half of the alley and begin restoration efforts along with the off-street parking on Meadowcrest.   Check back next week for another update.

Meadowcrest Road/Woodside Avenue Repaving Project: The sub-contractor completed all necessary concrete work associated with this project.  Next week, Lindahl will grind off the old surface material.  Once this is complete, the Village Engineers will determine areas that require full depth patches so that Lindahl can complete them.  Lindahl is also hopeful to place the initial layer of leveling binder down too. Check back next week for another update.

Dye Water Testing:  In 2017, as part of the Village's MS4 permit, the MWRD required smoke testing of the sanitary sewers in the Sherwood Village subdivision to determine Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) into separated sanitary sewers. Inflow and Infiltration (clean water) entering sanitary sewers have several potential leak points, including separated joints, distressed pipe, poor manholes, or cross-connections.  Results of the smoke test determined a further evaluation is necessary to resolve the exact locations of I&I requiring remediation.   This work includes Stonegate, Scotsdale, Deerpath, and the 1600 block of Forest Road. The contractor, Sewer Assessment Services, was chosen by the Village to conduct this work.  The contractor will plug and fill the storm sewers with water and green dye and then Closed Caption Televising (CCTV) the sanitary sewers.  Any location were the green dye is visually observed, that location is marked for remediation. NOTICE: Green dye water will enter the Salt Creek at two potential locations when relieving the plugs.  The MWRD has been notified of this work, and the dye itself is an environmentally safe product. The work is scheduled to begin the week of October 18th and last approximately three days (weather pending).

Sidewalk and Utility Concrete Work:  The Villages contractor, Globe Construction, will begin our annual sidewalk and utility restoration program the week of October 18th.  The work includes removing and replacing select sidewalks throughout the Village that poses a hazard and replacing curbs and aprons disturbed from utility repair excavations.

31st Street Bridge over the Salt Creek Repairs: The contractor working for IDOT has quickly moved this last week on this project.  New concrete approach slabs were poured, and the curb and gutter along the Southside were removed for the anticipated new curb.    Next week, all new curb and drainage structures will get installed.  Check back next week for another update on this project.
