By contract of receiving Lake Michigan water each utility has to enact indoor and outdoor water restrictions. Indoor restrictions include plumbing codes that require the installation of water conserving fixtures. Outdoors, residents are restricted in water sprinkling during the hottest time of the day to minimize evaporation. Listed are code restrictions for water sprinkling. A $50 fine may be imposed for each occurrence of code infraction. View the Water Restriction ordinance, Title 5, Chapter 51, Article 49, Section Meters and Rates.
