Department Overview

The Public Works Department manages maintenance of the Village's infrastructure as well as the design and construction of infrastructure improvements.  The Department also manages parkway trees and provides a variety of seasonal services to residents.

Daily operations of the Public Works Department include the operation and maintenance of the Village's sanitary and storm sewer systems, streets and sidewalks, the Village's urban forest, street signs and traffic control signs, street lights, fleet and equipment, and building and grounds. The Public Works Department operates the Village's Water Treatment Plant and maintains the water distribution system, which together deliver high-quality drinking water to all residents and businesses. 

The Department is comprised of a director, a superintendent, foreman, maintenance workers, office manager and supplemented by seasonal workers.
